Why laptops are expensive in Pakistan in covid-20

Introduction

The laptop is a small portable personal computer (PC), that works like a computer and we can take it anywhere. There is a lot of trend going on in the world these days. At first, they were big and worked slowly. But With the passage of time, it has been changed totally and today it is being used in almost every field of life. The first laptop name was Epson HX-20 that was invented in 1980 and introduced in 1981. It is a combination of all the input and output components and capabilities of a desktop computer including the display screen, small speakers, keyboard, and data storing device, CD/DVD room, Random Access Memory (RAM) and a lot of other things. Examples of specialized models of laptops include rugged notebooks for use in construction or military applications.

Uses

It is being used in almost all the fields of the world today. People are using them for various purposes such as:

        For office work
        For education
        For playing games
        For web browsing
        For personal multimedia
        For online purposes.

Generations

There are up to 10 generations of laptops having been invented. The first 3 generations are low quality. Their battery capacity is too much less than the next generations. The reason is that their motherboard contains large transistors and capacitors which consume a lot of electricity. That’s why; their battery life is a maximum of 2 hours. Whereas the laptop of the next generations is slim and high quality. Their battery life is on average 4 hours because their transistors are so small that they consume negligible energy.

How to check generation

In order to check the generation of your laptop, go to---My computer---properties

  1.         If the coding of the processor lies between 0 to 1000 value, it means Laptop is 1st generation
  2.           If it lies between 2000-2999, it indicates the 2nd generation.
  3.          Similarly, if digits start with 3, it shows 3rd generation.
  4.          And if the coding starts with digit 4,5,6,7,8,9,10, it means the generation is also 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 respectively.

In this way, we can check our laptop generation. The helping picture is shown below:

Prices in Pakistan

Expensive

In Pakistan, they have become more expensive than ever before due to various reasons. Some of which are as follow:

  • The fire at the Hafez center has led to a shortage of laptops in the country, making them expensive.
  • The second reason is that the previous government did not impose any tax on it. So it was cheap but now our government has imposed a custom tax on it. Whenever Laptop equipment comes from abroad, it has to be paid tax which has led to a huge increase in prices.
  • One of the biggest reasons is that the production of laptops decreased greatly due to covid-20. Many employers of the companies were infected with this virus, which led to a drop in production and an increase in prices.
  • Most of our laptop equipment came from china, but due to covid-19-20, the border is closed which led to a decrease in production.
  • Due to covid-20, almost all the educational institutions of Pakistan have made education online, which has increased the need for them and has led to high prices. When the company’s owners come to know that it is needed now, they increased its prices a lot.
  • There has been a surge in demand for notebooks and Laptops, with people forced to work from home as coronavirus continues to spread in the country and other parts of the world.

Conclusion

From the above discussion, it is concluded that when something is in short supply, its prices go up. And the covid-20 is the major cause of the shortage of laptops in the country which has led to high prices. Moreover, it is a technological thing that is always expensive. But covid-19-20 effect on it greatly. In order to know more about technology, visit laptop-technology
