Can we make progress without technology?
Introduction
About a hundred years ago, people lived in forests. They
wore the leaves of the tree. They were living like ignorant people. But the man
began to develop slowly. Everything that man has progressed since then is due
to technology. If any country in the world has developed, it is because
of it.
Definition
Technology provides the basic
information in specific fields like science, arts, and commerce. In other words,
it is the sum of skills, methods, techniques, and processes that are used in the
production of goods and services. In 1937,’’Read Bain’’ provides us his
definition. He says that ‘’It includes all the utensils, weapons, instruments,
tools, housing, clothing and transporting devices and skills by which we
produce and use them.’’ This definition remains common among social
scientists.
Some basic technologies
The simplest form of technology is the development and use of
basic tools, which are;
Fire extinguishing cylinder
Before it
was invented, water was used to put out fires. But as man progressed, he
invented it by combining different chemicals. Now people use it instead of
water. In this way, a lot of water is saved.
The invention of the wheel
At first,
people used to travel miles on foot but since man has discovered it, people
have been traveling miles in hours which was not possible without it. So it
proved very useful in human life.
The printing press
As man
progressed, he built a machine called a printing machine. It provides us
newspaper which provides us information of the entire world. So it also proved
a great technology.
Telephone
In the
past, people living in different countries or in different cities could not
communicate with each other. But since the invention of the telephone, people can
easily communicate with each other. This invention has brought people closer
together.
Internet
This technology
has greatly benefitted humans. It has made many difficult human tasks easier. Through
it, people sitting in any corner of the world can talk and see each other. Moreover, people can do their business through it. We can learn as well as earn from it.
This invention has changed the world.

Technology and covid-19
When the coronavirus came in 2019, we defended ourselves due to
technology. If we hadn’t made so much progress with technology, the world might
be ruined today. We have defended ourselves because of the progress made in the
medical field, otherwise, it was not possible. So we can say that we are alive because
of technology.
Future technologies
Scientists are working on a lot of technologies that will be useful in the future. Some of them are;

Conclusion
From the above discussion, we concluded that this world has not been
like this. In the beginning, people were very simple and did not have many resources.
They even don’t have their own houses but as they progressed and stepped in in
the world of technology, they not only changed their way of life but
also made countless inventions. We also know that this world will not be like
this in the future, but also made progress too much. So it proved that without technology,
it is not possible to make progress
